Write a Journal

I feel the need to write a journal, not necessarily made up entirely of writing, but the doodles and pasting stuff in. I was watching a TV show the other night, and there was quite a quote:

"He told me to keep a journal, and only write down the good things. Then when the bad things fade away, you can read about the happy life you had."

It was an interesting quote about letting go of the bad things in your life and only writing the good things in a journal. Imagine looking back at all the fun things you did.

I follow an author named Austin Kleon. He has several best-selling books and recently wrote a post about journaling. I find his work interesting and creative.

I write in three journals—one is a simple notebook that I keep with me, the other is in my van, which I write in whenever I am mobile, and the third is a five-year one-line journal a day. It is a fantastic reminder of what you were doing year to year.

Once you start writing, it’s amazing what comes to mind. As mentioned above, I like to add pictures. So I bought a Liene printer. It’s mini and prints pictures on paper that is a sticker. Its great fun to stick them in my journal.

While travelling I was able to visit a friend from New Brunswick, she was a mentor for me as I navigated my time volunteering at the SPCA.

There is a card at the top of the picture advertising a free bible course. There I was in this great hideaway spot along a river in New Brunswick when a visitor drove up and welcomed me to the area and offered this free course… very funny.

The other thing I do is whenever I mention a person, I write a note to them. It is safe to assume that people will read my journal when I leave this earth, especially if it is an unexpected departure. So wouldn’t it be nice for them to read a nice note about how much you loved them?
